Madekwe was born into an ethnically diverse family. Both her parents are both English. Her family was raised on a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. She earned her BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. The stage she appeared in was numerous productions during her time at school like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film of debut was that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as for six seasons Trexx as well as Flipside. Madekwe made her debut in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama series was telecast at The CW for only two episodes, but it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge as of February 2011. Following her appearance as a regular on the initial two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe would depart the series following a guest appearance in the premiere episode in the season's third. The actress played Tituba on the television show Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe got married to her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg on June 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he has also appeared alongside Madekwe on the TV show Salem.

Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers were athletic and were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey during winters. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so when she was 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley continued to compete until her high-school graduation in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. She won the top soloist at each of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
